Environmental Justice 101: Experimenting with Compost

In this lesson, students will be introduced to the amount of food waste produced in the U.S. and the issues it causes for the environment and society. They will then better understand composting as a way to manage food waste by starting a three week composting experiment where they will observe the decomposition of organic waste.
