Environmental Justice 101: Land Justice
In this lesson, we will expand on students' understanding of environmental justice by comparing Indigenous perspectives of land and the environment to that of settler colonial views. Students will consider how the doctrine of discovery informs settlers' ideas about the environment, and will reflect on the ways it differs from traditional views of land. They will conclude by learning about the #landback movement and consider what land justice means in relation to the broader environmental justice movement.
