Montopolis Community Garden

We turn underused school spaces into community‑led garden hubs for food sovereignty, ancestral learning, and hands‑on land stewardship.

Montopolis Community Garden at Allison Elementary School

Our goal is to transform underutilized school gardens in neighborhoods shaped by environmental racism and food apartheid into culturally rooted, community-powered hubs of healing, learning, and intergenerational stewardship.

Our garden programs offer a pathway to food sovereignty, ancestral knowledge, hands-on learning, and practical skills. We also help empower local community food cooperatives, selling tamales, salsas, and other seasonal recipes.

Since 2025 our educator hosts lessons incorporating traditional ecological knowledge with 30 students every other week. We’ve also hosted a field trip to Ecology Action (2025) and the Barton Springs Mill (2024).
