Resource Overview
Capitalism
In this lesson, students will learn about capitalism, including its history, the inequalities it is built upon and has exacerbated, how it affects the food system and environment, and competing economic and social systems. Students will watch a presentation that uses pictures, videos, and discussion questions to engage them in the content. Next, they will play a short round of Monopoly to illustrate how greed over property ownership leads to inequality and then they will learn about the anti-capitalist foundation of the game.
