Resource Overview
Food Waste and Landfills (Lesson one: Science)
In this lesson, we examine the food system and food waste. From farm to fork, students will learn about the entire cycle of how their food arrived on their plate and all the actors involved. Further, students will also learn about the difference between food waste and food loss that occurs along the supply chain. By learning about the importance of methane and carbon dioxide generated in our ecosystem, students will be exposed to alternatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
