Foraging in the RGV

This zine provides a culturally pathway into forarging in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV). The RGV is culturally and ecologically rich, home to diverse plant life that’s increasingly threatened by urban sprawl and harmful industrial projects like SpaceX and LNG. While colonization, industrial agriculture, and urban development violently disrupted these Indigenous foodways and traditions, they were never entirely erased. Today, people sustain ancestral knowledge and foster relationships with the land through foraging. This zine offers a glimpse into some of the edible plants found in this region.
